I went there once but it is a great beach and good for families with little kids. The story of getting the golden sand from West Sahara is very interesting since it is one of the few golden beaches in Tenerife.
True this is not a natural beach, with sand brought in from the Sahara desert, but it is yet a lovely spot with the mountains just behind and just a couple of miles outside the city. It is clean, toilets and changing areas are available...More
Visited when our cruise ship docked at Santa a Cruz. Got the 910 bus from outside the port terminal. €5 for 2 adults, return. Bus drops you right at the beach.

Ships are there 24/7 which really ruin the view you are looking for. Additiobally bars are using noisy Power generators so do not stay to close - instead of listening to the sea or Spanish music you hear unpleasant noise.
