The beach area is a great place to unwind and people watch. Black sand. The sea is quite rough and a dream for surf boarders. The surf looks amazing against the black sand. Very relaxing.

As part of our visit to Puerto De la Cruz we spent some time here taking in the scenery and people watching. It's an easy stroll along the front and plenty to see and do. The shops behind are good and there are nice gardens...More

Good place to sit and relax and watch the people out on the sea riding the big waves, which there are plenty. It would not be a good place to take little children as the sea is very rough and the waves are strong. There...More

I've never stayed on a black beach. And was a surprising feeling for me, living on Majorca, and habituated to white sand...Be careful with water: is so strong. This is not Mediterranean Sea. Local people told me that one of the most common beach accidents...More

This is a lovely black sand beach right outside the H10 Tenerfir Playa. There is a surf school on the beach, so there is plenty of rollers on which to practise. I would say this beach is not suitable for young children, it is however...More

A well laid out, walkable sea front containing lovely restaurants, cafes and shops with good views out to sea where you could sea surfers waiting the waves. Also had big lido with various sized pools, sun loungers food which, I believe, were at a reasonable...More

A good place to surf, but we found it difficult to get in for a swim in bare feet, the small pebbles roll around under your feet in the surf and are painful. There is quite a drag on the tide too, so it's tricky...More

Lovely views along the coast. Much of it catches the waves but there are sheltered areas and people do swim there. Saves the long walk to the big beach with lifeguards.

This large beach of black volcanic sand sits at the end of the long sea front and is popular with surfers. There is adequate seating for those who wish to watch the waves and the surfers in action
