Childrens indoor play area

So since having a child and being fortuante enough to have a holiday home in Tenerife, we thought we would try this out for out 2 year old for the cloudy and cool days we do have on occassions in Tenerife. The play area is on the first floor of the commercial center and the images we saw on the website and facebook made it look inviting........as we came out of the lift it was disspointing to see a vast space with little invitation to say come in and play. A few small rides led you to the tree house of whcih did invite you in. The pricing is dependant upon the day you go, weekdays all day is 5 euros, other peake times vary so check when paying what you are acutally getting. Our 2 year old was thirlled to see the bright colours and ball pits with slides, everything you would expect from an indoor area, but it was when you looked more closely things seemed to be uncared for and lacked the expectation you have come to expect from the UK (see photos). Cleanliness was not something that had been looked at for weeks or even months, the dirt was evdient to see and the more we moved around the play area the more we wanted to remove ourselves. The equiptment was dated and ripped, leaving unprtected areas of which an excited child would evidently find when tripping over and falling. The foam underneath appear black, hard to say if this was mould or a reaction, but certainly you didnt want to see it. Safety was not a concern to the company runing the area, had a sign stating children are left at their own risk and the area is not secure! The young lady who staffed the childrens area and the bar at the other area for the laser quest, really was disintereted (thats not her fault, but more lacked enthusiasm and its not surpirsing in such an area). It was such a shame, as you could imagine when first installed it would have been an exciting area for families on those dull days and when it rained. It lacked a fmaily friendly atmosphere and really could be something of a hidden gem, but saddley it isnt to be and would avoid in the future.
