I walked around Palma and was blown away at how beautiful and historical it is. The Old town is full of medieval buildings that snake towards the magnificent Cathedral La Seu, and the sea. These buildings are full of shops museums and places to visit like the Arabic baths . But also give wonderful shade. It also is the place to buy ice creams and the local pastries which are Delicious. The little lanes open up into the beautiful plazas which have welcome cafes and trees to welcome walkers. As you walk the lanes open up into Placa's that offer outside seating and a chance to people watch , these are crossed with horse drawn carriages that want to drive weary souls. The area by the side of the Cathedral is spectacular as well with gardens and historic architecture on all sides. Then once you get nearer the sea and the Cathedral entrance you see the old town walls that are perfectly preserved , walk around them and one side you come to the beach, which is welcoming on any walk. The other the harbor with a well positioned Bar, overlooking the multitude of ships. And then again that wonderful Cathedral in the background, majestically framing Palma.

Took a day trip from Can Picafort to Palma for the day. Our guide on the coach was average, she spent far longer talking to the German passengers than anyone else. However the guide of the city and Cathedral, Jordie, was excellent and very imformative.

I would give this a 3+/ 4- A good chance to walk around Palma with a guide who points out the main attractions and some of the lesser known places. Our guide also pointed out places to eat, local markets, and places to come back to and check out further. The tour was free with the suggestion that you pay what you thought it was worth. It was 2 hrs, our guide was prepared with an iPad of before and after pictures. And lots of stories. We felt that 10 euros / person was fair. Some god more some less
