This church contains a permanent display of many gorgeous, lit displays, some of which are pulled out for religious parades. The rosary is represented with stained-glass type displays. Not expensive to tour, an hour is plenty of time to enjoy and they offer English hand-held tour guides.

Happened across it while traversing the Old Town. And delighted to have done so. In an impressive Church from the beginnings of the 20th century.

In a procession every 13 October all these stunning creations emerge onto the streets to honour the city’s Patron Saint, Virgen del Pilar.

Constituting about 300 items in glorious colours, the crystal floats and banners symbolise segments of the Catholic prayer, the Rosary.

If though I had read descriptions, I have to say that I was surprised by the beauty of this museum, set inside a church.

Personally I would have piped in a bit of Gregorian chant to enhance the experience, but the floats, used in the Our Lady of the Pillar Festival are truly beautiful and very nicely presented.

A small addition to the general ticket for the Seo Cathedral and the Tower of the Pillar Cathedral, it's worth the visit.

Located inside the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is a large collection of crystal floats. I’ve never seen floats made entirely of glass before and I must say it was one of the most unique displays I’ve seen. I was the only visitor at the time so my experience was quite personalized. Upon entering and paying the entrance fee, I watched a short introduction film about the history of the floats and their construction. As I proceeded through the displays, a narrative played and lights illuminated the floats. Stunning!

Sacred Heart Church is the place that stores the lights and floats that parade the city during Our Lady of the Pillar festivities.
When my husband and I arrived, a family had just started the visit, so we joined them around the exhibit. It´s important to pace your visit to the illumination of the floats. You´ll miss the beauty of the stained glass if they´re turned off.

We read about this on a travel blog and so decided to check it out. We visited with an eight year old and 2 sixteen year olds and surprisingly they did quite enjoy it.
We are not overly religious yet we could appreciate the beauty and the effort that was put into the creation of each of the lanterns. You start at the first lantern and a voiceover tells you about the lantern that your looking at ( in Spanish which we understand)
It was a nice way to spend half hour

The most amazing thing would be to be here in October when these fantastic glass structures are pulled through the streets! Never the less these are wonderful to see and especially wait to watch when they are lit up which they are in rotation so you can walk round enjoying the individual complexities. They are amazing!

We are used to see these colored glasses in churches, but we never actually pay attention to them. Here we could see beautiful creations, that were a little different then what we are used to. It is pleasant to the eye.
Also, they turn down the lights periodically inside the creations, I would recommend to wait for the lights to turn up, that makes it a lot more better.

This is next to the Roman theatre & in my opinion, far more interesting. Only 2 euro entrance. You sit & listen to a brief intro, then one by one, each display is illuminated & you follow it around till the end. The whole thing lasted approx 20-30mins. Unfortuntately, the entire explanation was in Spanish & I didnt see any booklet or info in English. Its still worth going because they are stunning. Apparently the illuminations are used in processions which must be magnificant. The building itself is also beautiful with several displays, so look at the ceiling & the walls as you pass through. A must do whilst in Zaragoza!
