Beautiful with long and eventful history
Remarkable is the exquisite nature of the ornate art works, all for the glory of God. An illustrious site that once housed not only Emperor Caesaraugusta's Roman forum but also a later Moorish mosque now has this extraordinary holy place. A majestic imposing facade has amongst many grand elements a fine bell tower. But it is really the interior that is most awe inspiring. A superb coloured organ undoubtedly fills the cathedral with sonorous sounds. Gilt and tremendous carved stone is throughout. All making for an unforgettable duration.

This is one of my most favourite cathedrals! The different amount of chapels inaide all with different timelines and architectures its just amazing! Def dont miss this amazing old world building because it will leave ypu in awe! The size of the cathedral is impressive as well Cost is €7 which is pretty steep in comparison to other places but for me it was worth it!

    Very interesting cathedral
La Seo del Salvador is one of the most important religious buildings in Zaragoza, located in La Seo Squared in the center, close to the Pilar Square. It is one of the two cathedrals of Zaragoza (with more known El Pilar). It was built in the 12th Century and it has a very big bell tower. Inside you can see some very nice Chappelle's, around the cathedral choir. It is a very interesting religious building, where you can see a lot of artworks in each chapel. Also, inside you can visit the museum of tapestries, which is also very interesting. (See also Museo de Tapices to Capitular de la Seo)

Unfortunately Zaragoza was little more than a whistle-stop visit for us on the way through the region of Aragon. In between eating an ice cream and cooling our feet in the plaza fountain (it was a very hot day!), we did get time to briefly take a look at the city’s two great cathedrals, which a sizeable chunk of Zaragoza’s fame rests on. Basílica de Pilar and the 12th century Catedral La Seo, both impressive examples of medieval and post-medieval church architecture writ large.

The beauty of th eplace was ruined by the roughfess of entrance staff (a young male) not knowing the basic rules of courtsesy, ignoring the correct way to address advice to the visitors.
I did not like at all.

I’m sure the cathedral of Zaragoza is a fine example of ancient architecture - but it’s outrageous charging €7 for the entrance fee.

Churches are paid by the people and belong to the people. Open the doors for the people - immediately!

We believe churches should be built for the people and this pretentious place seems to be all about show and not the Zaragoza faithful. There are very few seats for people to attend mass, and the chapels look like “jail cells” with bars, chains, and padlocks, things that should never be present in the house of God. It LOOKS like this building was repurposed for a church rather than being built with the original intent. There is absolutely no reason for non-flash photography for personal use to NOT be allowed here, yet it is not allowed. There is an entry fee, and there are two different prices depending on what you want to see and visit. We opted for the least expensive at €7.00 per adult which incudes the cathedral and the tapestry museum. We went in on a Saturday around 12:30PM and the cathedral was pretty empty, yet the square outside and the larger cathedral next door were bursting with visitors. The saving grace here is the tapestry museum which has some amazing tapestry and justifying the price of admission. Unless you want to see some very nice tapestry, skip this place and go to the far more impressive and more beautiful cathedral next door which is free to enter and photography is allowed when mass is not being performed.

Absolutely incredible. Don’t miss the tapestry museum, attached and included in the ticket price. Go to the top floor. Unbelievable tapestries.

An extraordinary place. A handset guide is included in your entrance fee - but unfortunately it’s the same English narrator who mispronounces so many words; and the same historian who has written so many words, that we are familiar with from so many other cathedral visits in Spain - so much detail about the chapels. However, I am told that the guide for children is really good.
Lots of chapels to see, but it’s the main building architecture that is so stunning. Take a look around outside, especially towards the rear.
The entrance fee includes the tapestry museum - really not to be missed. On reflection, my advice would be to visit the outside first, then the tapestries before using what energy you have left with the handset and guide to the chapels.
