Horses bones were showing, scab marks by straps and foaming at mouth. No sign of regulation. Seville is a stunning, beautiful place with friendly, caring people and great food and weather. It’s distressing to see these horses mistreated compared to similar attractions in other European...More

We really enjoyed the horse carriage ride. Got to see plenty of the city and horse seemed in good condition. However the guide spoke next to no English and spent most of his time either on his mobile phone or seeing how many other riders...More

I was exploring Seville and had stopped outside the cathedral to take some photos, however to my surprise and horror I was suddenly hit by the side of a carriage and the driver didn’t stop to check if I was ok. I know they ring...More

Although the horse-drawn carriage ride is for the tourists ... it was still well worth it. We did a late afternoon ridge around historic Seville, through Parque de Maria Luisa, and past Plaza de Espana. For 40 Euros, it was a pleasant and enjoyable 45...More

The ride itself is about 45 minutes throughout the center of Sevilla (Plaza de España, parc Maria Luisa). At 45€ though it makes it very pricey for what it is. It looks like some ‘drivers’ are it or miss. Mine was giving me. A commentary...More

Three days in this lovely city with temperatures over 30 degrees. We saw many horse and carriages taking tourists around the hot cobbled streets but not once did we see a horse being given water. Seville is very walkable and there are many other ways...More

I strongly urge everybody to avoid this at all costs - horses have died and collapsed in Seville due to overworking and being subjected to 12 hour shifts in the heat while facing exhaustion and severe dehydration. They are often not allowed shade, are seen...More

The horses were working day after day from early till late in very hot conditions with no water given while drivers were taking water and lunch in the shade. Better to take a bike or bus tour or walk.

I was appalled to see a carriage driver abuse one of the beautiful horses that take people on carriage tours of Seville. These drivers do use a light whip to keep the horses moving, which is normally just a light touch once every now and...More

Hi jen41 I do believe, as you do, that there should be some sort of regulations on the hours that these horses work, to allow for breaks. I’m not sure that there is anything in place. Certainly, I would not use one of these... More
