This is one of the must-see places in Spain, if not the world. It’s is an ENORMOUS complex atop a hill in Granada. It is an astonishingly well preserved complex with gardens, buildings, different architectural styles and so on. I would allow at least 3...More

Plenty of walking uphill which requires stamina to last the whole day visiting Alhambra and the surrounds.

Book weeellllll in advance. I booked 2 months in advance and had to buy a different type of ticket, because the normal ticket was already booked up. Mark it on your calendar to visit 3 months in advance. And get the Audio guide!

The trip we did was incredible. The access to the palace is timeless and you can see as many things as wanted. It's beautiful and well preserved. The access to the gardens though... We had to fight for it a second time as we were...More

To echo everyone else, you need to be organised and book when the 3 month in advance window opens. The entrance isn't very friendly and unless you speak any Spanish it's difficult to navigate! Maps are in the information office - away from the ticket...More

Its just amazin the history the structures inside, we did a guided tour thru the castle and the Generafie Gardens and it was too much. We loved every part of it.

Buy tickets online early as availability is limited. Take minibus C3 from Plaza Catolica for 1km climb to entrance. Emphasis on Genaralife, Nasrid Palace, Alcazaba in that order.

A visit to the Alhambra Palace is a must do. We booked a tour and it lasted for 3 hours with a small break in the middle. It can be difficult to find your guide as I am sure this could be better organised by...More

We decided to look around Alhambra on our own and not pay for a guide, which we really enjoyed. However I would recommend getting an audioguide so you know what you are looking at. The most incredible gardens I've ever seen and a really peaceful...More

Personally, I don’t “go for” tour guides - I don’t like big groups and being forced to do things at someone else’s pace. Clearly, without a guide you will need to read and research the site beforehand, but that’s half the... More
