Went to Jerez de la Frontera on a tour bus to a winery. Crossed the old bridge on the way out and this wonderful new bridge on our return trip. Marvelous engineering and it looks a bit like the Cooper River Bridge in Charleston SC.

I mean, it's a bridge? A very nice bridge indeed, and I gather it makes visiting Cadiz a lot easier by car, but all you do is drive over it.

Spend 511 million euros and you get this grandiose bridge from the Spanish mainland.
69 meters above sea level making it one of the tallest bridges in Europe

It’s an impressive bridge. Not sure why it’s so highly rated as things to do but it’s impressive to see from afar. We were driven over it on a coach. We also saw it from the Catamaran to Rota

An impressive construction especially when viewed from the catamaran ferry from which you can really appreciate the architecture. In the end though it's a bridge,

It is nice bridge from an architectural point of view, a modern way to connect Cadiz with the surrounding area

Wednesday 18th May and we drove over this mighty structure as we drove in and out of the City of Cadiz.
The bridge is unsurprisingly the largest span bridge in Spain with a length of 540 metres.
The total length of the Bridge is 3,092 metres of which 1,440 spans the Bay. It transports vehicles across the bay with two lanes in each direction, another lane is reserved for public transport.
The two towers that support the cables stand at 185 meters (just under 606 feet) high and dominates the skyline around the area. The pattern of the cables are like a massive stringed instrument.
From the hill in the Battle Park in Chiclana
46 kilometres twenty-eight and a half miles away, less as the crow flies, it is possible to see the towers and the cables spread out.
It's construction commenced 2007 and was partially completed in 2015, completely in 2017.
It was an experience driving across the bridge as it slopes upwards towards the middle section it reaches a hight of 69 metres above the water below.
Pedestrians are not permitted on the Bridge, so photographs can only be taken while driving over by the passenger. There are fleeting glimpses, through the barrier as to what is going on around and below.

Very Unique construction for a modern bridge. Worth a visit to see the architecture. Working at Navantia so it was a daily view but I'd advise you to have a look from the shore to really take in the size of the bridge and the amazing construction technique.

First thing I noticed from the train while arriving to Cadiz was this wonderful impactful bridge. Not sure if you can cross it as a pedestrian but I was still able to see this gorgeousness from afar
