We have been twice before and were really looking forward to seeing the Caliph’s rooms and the gardens again, but were very disappointed that both were closed and we couldn’t even get near them. However, the rest of the site is quite interesting and some...More

We visited the Madinet Al-Zahra today as part of our two day hop on hop off ticket. It seems to be a long way out of town for not very much. Perhaps if there had been better tourist information brochures available in English it may...More

We booked the tourist bus to get there on the same day, it takes 15-20’ but it is worth the trip. The archeological site is very nice, but a bit tiring under the sun for children. Back in the museum/ticket office a well made 15’...More

Went here several years ago, and since then much needed restoration has been done. It still has a long way to go, but it's an interesting site outside of Cordoba. The Parador is near here, but don't stay there as it's way out of the...More

This is a must if you visit Cordoba. Despite the fact that only about 15% of the ruins were excavated, the area still brings you so much awe and info about this beautiful Moorish medieval palace.

It is incredible to think that all this huge space we can walk through is just around 6% of the whole archeological site! I went on a night tour in the summer and I was super impressed, great experience.

Our stop at Madinat Al-Zahra was one fascinating stop on our amazing tour of Spain. It was a purportedly a white city built in terraces into the hillside at the base of Sierra Morena with the Caliph’s palace at the top. Building commenced in about...More

Only just found this. Go to the Tourist Office in , I think Plaza Tendillas. They sell bus tickets. They also tell you where to get the bus. Well worth visiting

Yes you can try a taxi and in comparison to US, taxis are kind of inexpensive in Spain.
