Not only a fine church but the cages in which the Anabaptists were hung can be seen clearly hanging from the spire.(though the original are in the museum).A beautiful atmosphere inside.

This church is named after the first Bischop of Münster, Lambertus. Like all other churches, it was almost wholly destroyed during the bombing campaign at the end of WW II, and rebuild from scratch. During this bombing both arms of the Jezus figure on the...More

I only admired this place from the outside. I heard the creepy histories that happened in here. You can see the cages from afar. If can't noticed the cages you can zoom with your camera or cellphone.

A must see when visiting Munster. Being the nerd I am, I researched the history before our trip... it has a long & morbid one!

We were told that this church was built by a breakaway faction from the mainstream church by merchants who opposed the mainstream and were vying for control of the city. The spire is unusual as it's see through, like lattice work, hanging from the spire...More

When I stood outside this place I imagined a scene from DaVinci Code. This city is 1200+ years old. It's so worth the time and visit.

A completely different church from most other churches that I have seen elsewhere in Europe. The interior is almost Spartan in detail but this highlights the beautiful lead light windows and the fabulous organ pipes. It is a good place to sit for half an...More

Medieval parish church with a somewhat gruesome past, reflected in the 3 cages on the spire. Of particular note is the Tree Of Jesse over the entrance door.

This is a catholic church but the thing we noticed, is that both big churches in Münster are very plainly decorated for a catholic church. Definitely worth a visit, just very different form tne cathedrals and churches you usually see in Europe.

Many details are difficult to get if you don't have a guide. The story about the church, the religion and city internal fighting, the Dutch influence and the bitter end. A guided city tour does give some extra perspective.

While the interior of this church is not overwhelming, it is worth a visit. The exterior is glorious and there are some lovely features inside, too. Very high vaulted ceiling and an unusual organ.
