The surrounding park of the villa it is beautiful. The villa was in revamp so... not so good for a day visit. For young kinds it is not the right place to go.

Villa Hügel is certainly nicer and more impressive than a number of palaces, including monumental ones, such as the Residenz in Munich, seen as a matter of taste in decoration. Impressive scenery, excellent taste, innovative technology, explain the breathtaking success of the Krupp family.

Villa Hugel tells the story of the Krupp family which is quite interesting. Unfortunately, the museum lacks documentation in English and many details get lost for the non-German speaking visitors. This is a pity, as there is an interesting story that is being told here.

It is worth visiting to enrich one information about the industrial part of Germany. The villa shed some lights about the history of Krupp Family who started steel industry in this part of the world. Also, one would learn about the role of this family...More

You would get an idea of the grandness of this mansion when you enter through the main gates. A long curved driveway would lead you to the main mansion. As you proceed, you may feel the glamour and influence the residents and the visitors of...More

Don't miss to pay this attraction a visit. It is amazing how the Krupp family were living in the old days. a lot of parking spots. No restaurant available; just 500 meters by car to the lake.

Historically very relevant. Well conserved family villa (castle) which has a lot of history behind it. Especially the relevance for Essen, the area, how the family acted in and around the WW's was worthwhile seeing and reading..

As another reviewer has said, it's a real shame there's no English because it seems like there's some interesting history inside the family and house. The house is seriously impressive - the sizes of the rooms is stupefying. It's not expensive I guess, at 5€...More
