While in Aachen the famous Doll Fountain (Puppenbrunnen) (1975) by the Aachen sculptor Boniface Stirnberg was shrouded. Each figure has a meaning and have movable joints, but we didn't get to experience it. Allow for ~15 minute for your visit.
Unfortunately, this was still boxed up when we came to visit with no apparent indication of when it would be on display again. Hopefully it won’t be too long as it looks like it would be a very interesting thing to see.
This statue highlights Aachen's historic origins in puppet manufacture. I always show it to visitors if we're near by. I like the fact that it's interactive so you can adjust the puppets into different shapes and which way they're facing etc.
We just passed by this sculpture and snapped a picture or two. Well it's just another sculpture/statue. There was no signage indicating the significance of the statues. People surrounding us too did not give much attention to this item.
