About
One bunker, two exhibitions: The world's leading documentary about National Socialism and Hitler - in a bunker from the Second World War. How a modern, progressive and cultivated state can quickly descend into barbarism, culminating in unimaginable brutality and genocide. How Hitler's enthusiasm came about, how Germany became radicalized, how the Nazis led the world to ruin, what became of the underworld of the "Führerbunker". And then the Nazis were just gone? In the second part of the bunker you can see the Museum Germany 1945 to today. From unconditional surrender to the Ukraine war. How Germany became what it is. Desert of rubble, economic miracle, building of the wall, “dare to have more democracy”, fall of the wall, “we can do it” – the turning point, however, was 1968, the transformation of society. Your ticket is valid for both areas. Texts: DE, EN | Audio Guide: DE, EN, FR, ES, IL, IT, NL, DK, UA, PT, PL, RU

Must visit to understand a very dark part of human history!
Beyond any doubt one of the best museums I have ever visited globally. For good story line / explanation. Superb audio. Not fun, but must visit if you want to understand history. Take 2 -3 hours it is very much worth your time.

    Not for young children.
When we first went to visit the lady at the ticket desk said she would sell us tickets but wouldn't recommend it as they closed in less than 2 hours and you really needed 3 to get a full experience. We thanked her and returned the next day ( earlier!) The audio guide is essential here to experience this properly. It is well laid out with each section telling a corresponding number to press. The photos were very well researched, emotional and harrowing on some occasions. I would not recommend bringing children here despite some people doing so. My youngest child is 14 and a complete history buff but even he was affected by some of the images. This tells the story of Hitler from birth through his childhood and rise through the ranks to how he became furher & his ultimate death. I really liked the audio and the personalisation of the storyteller. I felt invested in his life & family. You are not allowed photos inside & there is not a toilet until the very end. We spent almost 3 hours here.

    History Lesson on a budget
An incredible and in-depth look at Hitler’s progression to power. We stumbled on this during an audio tour. This could easily take up 3-4 hours of time (which we unfortunately didn’t have). It seems incredible the conditions endured in the bunker during WW2. A must see for those interested in the minutia of German history at that time.

Exceptionally detailed museum. A lot of good info
Exceptionally detailed info. Need to spend 4+ hours to see everything. It would be nice if the museum shop would add a book that covers all of the details from museum, currently they only have a book about making of museum… It is forbidden to take photos, that is a downside…

    A must see
This is one of the most detailed and comprehensive exhibits on Hitler that I have ever visited. Many other museums focus on a small area or time, but this follows the rise and fall, and more importantly the how of his success. This should be a required visit as it explains facts without excuses.

    The bunker
The story bunker shows the whole history of germany and its leaders from the first half of the 20th century. It's only permitted for adults and photo-taking is forbidden, just undestood why. Would really recommend to people interested in the Second World War.

    A very good exhibition.
Wow, this really gives a good view of how this could happen. Very informative. Not for kids I will assume. Good audio guide with a plesant voice. I know a bit about German history, but this was better than expected actually.

    Berlin history
This is reasonably priced and your given a audio guide. This charts the rise and fall of Adolf Hitler, from his birth, schooling, his paintings, his time in WW1 and his rise to the top of government, the atrocities and his death. There are some graphic photos in the exhibition but it tells the truth about what happened. To take it all in you need a good couple of hours. Well worth a visit.

    Great visit
So glad we chose this museum to learn more about the modern history of Berlin . Modern history was carefully documented and explained and provided us with a clear picture of the story of the background to and progress of Hitler and the Second World War in Germany . Our visit took around 2.5 hours so prepare to take in lots of information

If you want to find out what happened then this is the place
Superb amount of information which gives a balanced view of what occurred based on gained fact. There is a HUGE amount to read and see so set aside 2 hours to get a good idea of all contained. Some very harrowing pictures so maybe discretion involved for younger children. The audio guide is included in the price.

Very detailed and expansive museum in an atmospheric setting. Definitely not for children as some parts are extremely graphic and quite upsetting, even by the usual standards of the subject matter.

The Berlin Bunker is an enjoyable and informative attraction that is a must see in Berlin. You really need to allow 3-4 hours to complete the tour because there is a lot of information to absorb. Staff were friendly and the information is set out in an easy to follow chronological order which doesn’t shy away from the difficult topics. Love this attraction I just wish I had more time to spend here.

We spent almost 4 hours here. You can do it in 2 hours but if you really want the full experience, you will likely stay 3-4 hours. The level of detail is both incredible and horrific given the subject. I walked away feeling that I understood more about WWII than from any other source.

If you want to get a well organised, detailed and not white-washed overview of how Hitler came to power and how the atrocities he and his fellow murderers committed could happen, this is a must-do for you. The audio guide accompanying the exhibit is phenomenal, so do listen to it. Documents, photos, artefacts and films are truly well curated. This tour is in the original bunker, which adds to the sobering atmosphere. It is a long tour, you could spend 4-5 hours or more, but they will be hours well spent. Also being an old building and a bomb shelter at that, the museum is not air conditioned, so dress accordingly and bring a bottle of water. If you are in Berlin for history, this tour is a great starting point to help you put other historical museums, exhibits and tours in Berlin into perspective. And if you only have time for one historical tour in Berlin, make this your priority. I am not affiliated with this museum, it is just truly one of the most well-curated and honest exhibitions I have come across on this topic.

Hard going, but informative.

Shows how Hitler came to power over a walk through that takes a few hours. Very harrowing pictures, but worth visiting,

Really interesting museum. Allow 2-3 hours for the visit. We went at 5 and were ushered out by a rude young man at 6.50pm who stated “Come on get out, I’ve had a really bad f***** day”. Other than that, I can highly recommend if you’re into the history of Nazi Berlin.

Outstanding and informative museum/bunker experience.

Well researched and lots of detail to inform you about every part of German life that led to the rise of nazism and hitler.

Really well laid out and took a good two hours to go round. My partner and I often rush round museums but this prompted us to stop. Despite having studied modern history there were plenty of things to discover and learn and this was all done really well.

It’s got a lot of difficult messages but the tone is right for me. No celebration of war (from any perspective) and a desire to influence those who might wish to that they should think twice.

This is a must see when in Berlin. Be prepared for lots of reading, few chairs so lots of standing. Was there for 4.5 hours and it was fascinating. Some of the images were horrific and will stay with me. However, it makes you realise history must never be repeated.

This is probably one of the better Museums in Berlin - full of history with lots to learn and read up on relating to the history. You can easily spend several hours here.

If you are interested in WW2 and particularly the rise of Hitler and his final days, it is very interesting. Very informative and the audio tour kept it moving. My son (12 years old) found it very interesting - both to see a bunker from WW2 as well as learn more about Hitler. There were some disturbing photos, staff 'warned' us upfront. Having the museum in an actual WW2 bunker made it special.
