If you have a few hours and want to get away from all the noise of Berlin, this is a wonderful way to spend some time thinking about the past. The cemetery, although overgrown with massive trees and plants, is somewhere to wander peacefully. You...More

I visited the Cemetery to find the grave sites of my great-grandparents and great-uncle. The staff in the office was extremely helpful in finding the plot locations. The cemetery is very large, and many parts are overgrown with pants and many gravestones are in disrepair,...More

Such an eerie but beautiful cemetery left partially wild with natural ivy growing over individual plots. Really peaceful place to visit.

This is a must-see destination for anyone interested in Jewish history in Berlin and in general. Be prepared for an unpleasant experience though if you want to do research and need the assistance of the administrative staff at the cemetery office. The people there make...More

Visited here today with a friend. This is a peaceful and gorgeous plot of land. The history of the people and the way they're being remembered really shines a positive light on the human race. We wished there had been a brochure to help us...More

Because of the recommendation of a teacher, I took my bike to this cemetery a few days ago. Unfortunately, I didn't arrive until 16:30. They close at 17:00 during the week, so I only had a little while to look around. I walked along the...More

There is probably no better and quieter place in Berlin to take a long walk and take a time-out from the busy city life. It is a huge urban jungle with a rich history and a must see if you are in the Weissensee area.

It would be difficult not to be impressed by the Jewish Cemetry on a number of levels. On a cold Autumn morning it had a special sort of beauty. Avenues of memorials are carefully laid out showing how fashions in funeral art have changed with...More
