This was the best of all the Christmas markets, even though the only one charging 1 euro entrance it was well worth the fee!

Gendarmenmarkt refers to the plaza alone, and the plaza happens to have the Der Deutsche Dom, Französische Dom, and Konzerthaus (German Cathedral, French Cathedral, Concert House) onsite. The architecture is wonderful and is comparable to the Cathedrals of other major cities. What's more amazing about...More

This is a long square flanked by two churces and a theater in its middle, which in the summer is a fantastic place to sit at one of the many places that put out tables and chairs and have a coffee or a glass of...More

This is a masterpiece of a town square with 3 monumental buildings: the Konzert Hall, the "French Church" and the "German Church" and a statue to the poet Schiller. The square is named after the Gen d'armes regiment of cuirassiers garrisoned there in the 1700s....More

In my point of view the most beautiful square in Berlin, housting the „French Dom“, the „German Dom“ (evangel. churches) and the „Konzerthaus“ between. For friends of classical music a good opportunity to enjoy the acoustic and the highlevel orchatras giving concerts. The square is...More

This is a very popular Platz, and unique in that it has two cathedrals - German and French and a Concert House. It is another Berlin location that exhibits the German-French connection. There is also a Galéries Lafayettes not too far away that enhances that...More

The French Cathedral dome was closed for renovation when we visited but a stroll through this area is very pleasant and the renowned Rausch chocolate shop with chocolate models of Berlin's famous sites is nearby.

Very nice old buildings, French inspired. Not much to do there, but worth the time for a short visit.

Our hotel was 2 blocks away from the plaza. It is impressive. Very accesible also by subway or buses. This area is excellent; has a neighborhood charm but is filled with many excellent restaurants.

The open square between the ‘German’ and ‘French’ Dom provide a quiet area where one can rest after walking around the various sights or shopping in Friedrichstrasse. It is amazing that the buildings and square have only relatively recently been resurrected from being flattened during...More

The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights
