The square on one side of the gate is jammed full of tourists trying to get pictures of the gate with no tourists in them. It is a flat cobblestone area. Nothing else.

Really scenic area for sitting and watching the world go by. Lots of tourists here, so if you want quieter photos go early morning. The buildings in the area are beautiful. There are also small garden areas with tulips.

This is a large public square right by the Brandenburg gate. The surrounding buildings are all quite similar in appearance and present a classical facade. Enjoy the people watching and the general tourist atmosphere. The American Embassy and Hotel Adlon are worth looking at

Very important and historic square in the center of Berlin with serious buildings all around, plus the big park. Not necessarily pretty, but grand and important.

This is where you'll view the Brandenburg Gate, it's a pedestrianised square and the buildings surrounding the square are quite modern since they've been newly built or refurbished. There is a hive of activity here all the time, lots of excited tourists and why not?...More

This is the square on which the Brandenburg Gate is located. There is always a terrible crowd of people here.

With limited vehicle traffic, this is the best area to take a picture of the Brandenburg Gate which dominates the view.

This is a lovely and very central square, at the end of Unter Den Linden avenue, which is dominated by the Brandenburg gate (and some embassies and hotels, too).

The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights
like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum
Island. The central location makes this one of the
city's most expensive places to live. It is here the
oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence
of some significant transformations, as well. The
gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets
between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given
