Brilliant but watch if you have height issues
Excellent but not for anyone afraid of heights. The views are stunning and the dome impressive. Great head set commentary. Be mindful of booking and not get caught out. We went and allocated a slot the day before as none left online. Well worth the visit.

    Reichstag dome
Once you have booked your slot and received the confirmation you are good to go. Good that you can choose a few slots and they are not particularly rigid to them if it’s not too busy. Remember your id/passport to get in. Very impressive building to start with and very security conscious on going in. The views are great so try and check the weather as would be pretty grim on a windy and wet day. The dome is cool and very warm in the sun , east enough to walk up at a leisurely pace.

    Great Views and Excellent history
This is a must see when in Berlin. Great views of the city, excellent audio talk, and interesting architecture. Free, just remember to go online and make reservations as if you just show up you may not get access.

    Well worth the visit
Free entry. Must pre book but can stay as long as you want. If you want to go to the restaurant must pre book that too. Take photo id and good security. Good audio tour. Views are good and the architecture interesting. Interesting photo exhibition at base of dome giving potted history of parliamentary history over the years. (If going with children be aware no loos seemed to be in evidence. Loos at entry blocked and out of use. Cafe over the road needs 1 euro to use).

Fantastic building and 100% a must see
This is an amazing building and you would not expect this from the outside, it looks very modern inside. Lots of history and worth the visit, it not for the history for the fantastic views from the top. This is free but beware you need to pre book or you need to queue across the road to get this booked (usually not on the same either) so do this early in your trip and you will need your passport both to book and to get access

Excellent views (once you get up there)
Excellent when you get up there. Views from the rooftop are amazing and help you get your bearings if you're new to Berlin. The dome itself is beautiful and there is plenty of information about the building too. Be warned though, you must book several days ahead on their website to clear security (it's free). You must take your passport. In spite of the very strict and specific entry time on the ticket, the entry process is long, claustrophobic and shambolic and you are herded into corners and behind tapes with no explanation. But it's worth it when you get there.

    Book ahead for tickets
See where famous Angela Merkel spoke. Walk through the modern dome of the German Parliament House. You can ask for a free audio guide device when you reach the rooftop area. But it is strongly recommended that you book tickets online days and even weeks ahead of your visit.

Based on a friend's recommendation, we booked a visit slot in advance, as walk-ins aren't allowed. Admission to the dome is free, and the audio guide provides detailed information. Despite thorough security checks, entry was well-organized and efficient. Definitely worth a visit!

As soon as I booked my air ticket I went online to find out about a visit to this place which for me was an absolute must. Tickets are available usually up to month in advance and booking in advance is absolutely essential as tours sell out rapidly and you won't get in otherwise. Security is tight as you would expect so allow plenty of time for this and make sure you read the information carefully and take your ID.

Tours are available in several different languages and for me was really interesting and informative - learning all about the history and how democracy functions in Germany - very different to the UK where we have the antiquated first past the post.

The dome was just stunning - the sun shining through these crystalline panels reflecting the light with excellent views of the Dome and surrounding area. I could have stayed up there forever if there wasn't so much else to see!

We did the Prosecco afternoon tea at the Reichstag. It was very pleasant & much nicer than we were expecting. It was definitely worth doing. Just the right amount of food, bite size sandwiches & cakes. All were delicious. Staff were lovely too. After our tea we walked up into the dome. Great views from the dome & a very good audio guide. Worth a visit. You need to book in advance though.

The Reichstag building itself is beautiful with its dome added. Outside the front there is plenty of space to take pictures. When we were there there were renovations taking place and portacabins and railings in front of the building which spoilt the photos a bit but we went around the side of the building and got some pictures instead. We had booked a time slot to see inside the Dome. We had booked in advance some weeks before and secured a time slot on our selected day. When booking online you select three possible times that you can visit and get allocated one of those if available. You must enter the names of all those in your party for security purposes. We chose just to see the Dome although there is an option to book a tour of the Parliament building too although there is less availability for this option as it is only available when Parliament is not in session. They send you an email confirmation if a slot has been given and you print this email and bring it with you.
On arrival at the Reichstag there is a portacabin to the right of the front of the building which is where security is. You must have your passports which are checked and then put any small bags through the airport style scanners. It was all very efficient and quick. Then you are taken up to the building in small groups and enter the main door passing through another layer of security. Then taken up in the lift to the Dome. There is a desk before going outside where you can collect a free audio guide in English and I would recommend this. You pop it in your ear and it automatically activates once you start going up the ramp inside the Dome..it tells you about how the Dome was constructed and all the different landmarks as you circle up the inside of the Dome and back down again. Staff were friendly and the once is relaxed whilst you explore the Dome. We had plenty of time to listen to our guide and then come back down in the lift when you are ready. A great experience especially for any architects or structural engineers to look at.

Booked onto both the guided tour of the Bundestag, and a visit to the dome. It is a must when visiting Berlin. The guided tours of the Bundestag only run when the House isn't sitting, but they are an essential, and free, part of a trip to Berlin. Our tour guide was very good and informative.

This is a must. The views from the dome over Berlin are amazing. Booking is preferable well in advance but we did get tickets on the day by queuing up at a kiosk nearby at 8am. Security is tight but the process is very efficient and once inside you can take as long as you like. The audio commentary is free and worth having.
