Our embassy was very well protected and is beautiful and situated near the best hotel in Berlin (Adlon Hotel).

Hardly an "attraction", the American embassy is strategically located next to the Brandenburg gate. The building itself is anything but interesting, which is a good this, as not to distract the attention from the real attraction in the region, which is the gate itself.

As a proud American citizen I was pleased to see our Embassy be princely located right across from the Holocaust Memorial directly across the street and also very near Brandenburg Place. I do believe that despite our issues we did in fact have a role...More

How could be an American Embassy located within the old East Berlin? How could it be so close to the Brandenburg Gate? It is really huge, I've never seen such a big US embassy before. Messageholder...

A rather peculiar listing for TripAdvisor. We don't often see embassies listed as attractions in the cities visited. Like other U.S. Embassies, this is not a traditional attraction which you can visit for sightseeing. Other than U.S. citizen services, visa, emigration and other official government...More

It is a shame that this structure is so reminiscent of the ugly Russian and East German architecture of the East Zone when Berlin was a divided city. It does stand in stark contrast to the lovely feel of the Brandenburg Gate.

More DDR style than any other building. Full of guards securing the empty streets. Home of the NSA, recording everything, as the Status then and others before. Ugly building, nothing to see here.

I disagree with the other reviews but I think you have to have appreciated the architects views. The position is grand, right next to the Brandenburg Gates. All buildings were destroyed in WW2 and the rebuild of the city is rather bland overall. But if...More

The US Embassy building stands on the left side of the beautiful, iconic Brandenburg Gate in Berlin. Blucher Palace used to stand where this ugly building stands now. Surprisingly this embassy building was designed on the the plans that were competition winners. American architects Moore...More

The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights
like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum
Island. The central location makes this one of the
city's most expensive places to live. It is here the
oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence
of some significant transformations, as well. The
