Went here after the Würzburg Residence. Unfortunately they have no English tours and you are not allowed to explore the house on your own. Gardens are pretty but not worth a special trip

My partner and I visited the Schloss at Veitshochheim on the same day as we visited the Residenz in Wurzburg. We had both found the big palace a bit much and the guided tour there uninspiring. Well, what a contrast when we got to Veitshochheim!...More

Baroque-style castle with a party room with scenes of hunting very well preserved, dating from 1600. The beautiful garden and the open-air theater add a touch of class to this building. There are guided tours from hour to hour and the cost is 3.5 euros...More

This was the first stop on my 2018 visit to Wuerzburg. The palace itself is in wonderful condition, but I missed getting a tour of the interior with a guide by 2 hours, so I had to content myself with walking around the exterior and...More

The Schloss itself is fairly small and intimate but perfectly proportioned and maintained. You will find the beginnings of the castle in the ground floor. Between 1680 until 1682 they built a hall with five arcades. This hall served as a protection place behind the hunting. Later followed an extension of two window axes and the representative second...More

From the train station, you have to walk up the main street with all of the shops on it (which most will be closed on Sunday). Look for the bus #9, I believe, and the signs are electronic, so it will clue you in on which... More
