We did a walking tour of Passau and learned about its history and followed the colored stones to Artists' Alley. The town is very walkable with lots of small shops, restaurants and cafes. Great way to spend a few hours and get a feel for...More

This is a fun street to wander down, especially if the shops are open. It is what you would expect in a small German city from the cobblestones to the narrowness of the street. Aside from looking in the shops, it was not worth a...More

The lovely pretty town Passau was our Port of sailing for a cruise on the Danube, so a City tour was our first “task”. During our tour of Passus’ streets and alleys we hit this lovely alley named “Artists Alley”. Many workshops and studios, welcoming...More

This was a walkthrough on a Gate1 river cruise stop. The building walls are marked with the heights of water from floods occurring since 1501 (the worst) and as recent as 2013 from the three rivers surrounding the town (Danube, (Inn and Ilz). Water levels...More

Not sure what the draw is here. There are only a couple of shops here. Very modern, avant garde. Maybe crazy colors and flags strung between the buildings give it some sort of artist alley flair?

I live here. Its nice! Especially in the summertime worth to visit. Please make sure that the local residents can still cross the street, when you are here for sightseeing.

Passau is a fascinating town, there is so much to see just walking round it. The town has suffered time and again with flooding. Each flood caused suffering and put a number of small stops near the river out of business. Apparently, after one flood...More

Worth walking through but don’t expect to be inundated with artists plying their wares. Only a couple of shops in this alley, however they are still great to visit. Keep walking around this area and you will come across other artists selling their craft, so...More

We wondered this section of Passat on a Sunday so not many stores/ shops were open. The things we saw were interesting and the walk was quite lovely. My husband and I really enjoyed this beautiful town.

We were with a mixed group off our Danube Cruise Boat with some better walkers than others but most smiled as they took in the simple difference of the pavement giving them a colourful surprise

We began a walking tour in the Artists' Alley. Unfortunately, being an early walk all the shops were closed. It is very narrow and ends in a small plaza by the river. Would be worth seeing if the artists shops were open so you could...More
