Just outside Nuremberg station is Handwerkerhof Nürnberg. This is a small medieval shopping area with loads of little shops selling crafts, jewellery, food and drink. Looking over this enclosed square is the imposing Königstor. I had a great coffee opposite the tower in a little...More

Small but very well stocked craft shops and eating places. We visited a few times and saw something different every time. Nice place to visit for a short visit or a long drawn out meal.

Handwekerhof is just located opposite of the main train station. It is surrounded by towers and walls of the medieval fortifications. The place is also called "King's gate". Lots of local shops, restaurants and local specialities to discover (A.rtisans work) Very friendly place.

Just inside the Alstadt near the entrance by the Central Station is this small street representing craft workers cottages. Very much a tourist trap, but nice to take a stroll through and check out the various gifts available. You’ll need deep pockets!

We spent way longer here than we thought, it was really cute! The cookie shop with the carved rolling pins is not to be missed! We were able to get a lot of nice souvenirs here. ANd a yummy lunch. Highly recommend!

This area is just inside the wall of old town and reminds me of more of a set up for tourist shopping. It is inside the town, but still a ways away from the center of town.

The geraniums beneath a window are the beautiful highlight. The pottery shop has some lovely pieces.

We enjoyed our two meals at Handwerkerhof. The waitresses were very friendly and the beer was top class, especially the dunkel beer. If we return to Nuremberg we will certainly visit again.

It's a very small area with a few nice looking kellers (didn't look expensive) and a few handicraft shops selling wooden, leather etc goods. Doesn't take long to go round but not inspired and thought it would be much bigger. All done in 20 mins.
