You really do not have to drink beer to enjoy all that the fest has to offer; beer, wine, great food, people and carnival rides. The massive amount of people spreads out over many “tents”, rather semipermanent buildings, all well appointed. We prefer midweek, 10am...More

We visited Munich for my son's eighteenth birthday. The family went to celebrate with him. We visited the halls and biergartens and joined in the revelry. We met people from around the world there celebrating. You must have your lederhosen and drindle to fit in...More

A bucket list item checked off. A good experience but probably would not do it again. The beer tents are huge and beautifully decorated but get crowded quickly. Recommend arriving early in the day unless you have a paid reservation. The beer is good but...More

If you like beer and you like a big party, then this is a must. First of all, I have to recommend Bucketlist events. We reserved the tents through them, and they were very well organized and ensured that our experience was fun and worry...More

This is something everyone must do at least once! Wear a drindl or leiderhosen. We bought some on amazon but you can get them in munich for about the same price. If you can, during the week. We went on a Friday and Saturday. We...More

What a place! So much fun and a great experience. It's not very often you get so many nationalities together drinking all day with no trouble! Not even politicians do that! Definitely one for anyone's bucket list!

One may call it a bucket list item or a thin you have to do but we had a blast this year. We went early (or what we thought was early) around 1030 and found most of the "tents" were already full. You can pay...More

I’d definitely do this again. The tour of the grounds. The food. The hospitality. Everyone is welcome! Having our reservation at the haufbrau tent. Amazing.

My husband and I went to Oktoberfest for the first time a few weeks ago, and it was so much fun! We went with several other couples, which I highly recommend, it is definitely a “the more, the merrier” type event. Our first night we...More

That was my 3rd visit to Oktoberfest, so I knew what to expect and where to go. Of course it’s fun, lots of drunks around and tents are wild. A thing I didn’t like that this year that there were too many drunk teenagers who...More

You have to go to the Augistiner Keller Biergarten. That place is amazing and the basement is truly remarkable.

I booked via Airbnb. We had an apartment about 30mins outside of Munich. Used the train to get in (public transport is excellent). We were there for the week so also had a car to do some sight seeing.
