The building is more interesting than the contents. The collcetion on display is fairly limited. The sculptures between the two Pinakoteken are nicely placed,

It was lovely to visit this gallery on a public holiday as there was hardly anyone there. Some of the paintings were really interesting and it was nice to have a wander around with no crowds. There are ramps everywhere for disabled access, which I...More

This is an excellent collection of 18th and 19th century art, mostly paintings, but some sculptures as well. It's a good sized collection, but not too much to see in a single visit.

As highlighted by other reviewers there is a good but not large representation of works by Monet, Van Gogh, Gauguin, Cezanne, Liebermann, Manet, Rodin, Degas, Sisley and others. Because this museum is uncrowded, you can take your time to admire the works. There is also...More

This isn't the biggest art museum I've been to, but it did have a lot of really nice paintings. I liked the rooms dedicated to German artists a lot. I thought the museum was organized quite well.

Arrived during working hrs, all doors closed. No advertisment or announcement that museum closed. Were very upset. A lot of people walking around (visitors) and nobody understand what to do. Date 24-04-2018.

If you like the arts from 18th/ 19th centuries there you can find some samples, it’s not a huge collection of art but it is nice to pay a visit! On Sundays, the entrance costs only 1€!
