Friend and I were visiting Bavaria for the first time, and I have always wanted to tour Ludwig's castles, since I was young. So, it was wonderful to experience it. Even though most of the castle is still unfinished, everything else makes up for it,...More

When we first arrived to the castle, I was overwhelmed with how touristy the area felt. There are busses and busses full of tourist and nothing but tourist shops. HOWEVER, if you can get over all that the castle itself is AMAZING. I am so...More

This was a good place to visit. We walked up to the castle but didnt go all the way up. We were told that it wasnt really worth to pay and go inside the castle so we just walked all the way up. It took...More

Must take pictures at the bridge it’s breathtaking. Didn’t do the castle tour because it was crowded of tourist. But the surrounding grounds were picturesque enough.

The actual castle itself was really not impressive to me, but then again, I've seen so many castles and palaces in Europe. Photography is not allowed inside the castle so take as much as you can outside. The walk to the castle is not too...More

The whole experience is choreographed to be amazing. Was a bit disappointed by the pre booking rules, but we did find space in the tour. The tour itself was an experience worth remembering.

The bridge view of the castle was a nighmarish sea of people that wouldn't budge to let anyone on or off the bridge; some crowd control is needed here. The castle itself is impressive inside & out, but the tours (a new tour starts every...More

The best way to visit: park your car at the parking area at the entrance near tourist information center. Walk to the bus station (near Hotel Müller Hohenschwangau). Take the bus to the mountain, and get off at Marienbrücke stop. Walk short distance to Marienbrücke,...More

Nice visit to a tourist spot. King Ludwig only lived here for a few months in 19th century; the castle was shortly afterwards opened as an attraction. You will not find a lot of history, but more the medieval idealization of King Ludwig with all...More

The castle is amazing. I would have no problem living there. I only wish we could have seen more rooms even if they were not renovated. I assume other tours allow this as we only got the basic English speaking tour. I was pleasantly surprised...More

The guided tour times are strictly limited and take about half an hour. There is a small terrace above the waiting area, but that is the only area within the castle walls that you can go unsupervised. Of course, there is... More

The horse and carriage is in the main staging area of the town. No elevator in the castle and several up-and-down at least three levels to the castle
