The tour was disappointing because the entire front is under scaffolding and all the textiles inside are covered so you have to look at pictures to see. The view from the balcony at the end is very nice though! The best view of the castle...More

We didn't do the tour, rather we saw the exterior and enjoyed the surroundings. Castle is definitely an awesome sight, especially from Marienbrucke bridge. I would say the crowds at the bridge were pretty huge, and all the pushing and shoving did take away from...More

Now, this castle looks better on photos than live. Surroundings and the views on nearby lakes are better than this castle. Tour lasts for around 40 minutes and you'll get some info about the interior. There's too many crowd there, people are losing their head...More

Nice Castle to visit, impressive for pictures from the outside. Only available with a "guided" tour but the guide is only there to push everyone along. There is a audio guide which does an OK job for the short 30 min tour. They shove tours...More

Such a cool castle. NOT super old. Only built in the 1800s. Pretty much the most photogenic castle I’ve seen. Take the short hike to the bridge to get the awesome view. The castle itself is about a 40 minute walk up a windy road....More

Neuschwanstein is sold as a romantic experience however the reality is a steep climb to wait 2 hours to be shuffled through in groups of 50 listening to a scripted talk (no time for questions) to exit 30 minutes later through the gift shop. Lots...More

I loved the castle and all the history behind it, however the trip was made even more special by the immaculate natural surroundings. The lake was truly amazing and the walk around the area was very enjoyable. There are scores of souvenirs stores to purchase...More

I was doubtful that I was going to be wowed by this castle. On the downside and not getting 5 stars, the entrance to the castle is being renovated. So no photo ops at the entrance. Get your ticket at the ticket center at the...More

When you get to the area, you have to take a bus, horse carriage ride, or walk to the castle itself. We took a carriage ride for 7 Euros. It was fun and I recommend. You wait in line until your time is called and...More

This is a amazing castle, pre-order your tickets and skip the long line. Take the carriage ride up, so much more cozy than being stuffed into the bus like a sardine. The castle tour is gorgeous the tour goes over all the outside influences that...More
