We visited the Alpine Coaster at 11 am on a Saturday morning. It was fairly quiet at that time. The coaster is 10 mins walk from Oberammergau station. The €11 charge for the chairlift up and the coaster down is more expensive than most coasters...More

This was an unexpected treat in Oberammergau! The chairlift up the mountain is beautiful and there are a lot of activities for kids up there. Coming down the alpine coaster was so much fun for all of us!

Went with a 4 year old, who is great fan of these types of rides. They will take you up to the top with a chairlift-pleasant 20min ride. On the top there are many activities (zip line, climbing, etc) but we immediately went to the...More

After trying to go to two other luges/slides that didn't follow their own website times, we finally came here (and they did adhere to their posted open times). I'm soooo glad that the first two didn't work out because having seen three in total, I...More

Visited this place by chance as a colleague mentioned we should go. The snow was receding this time of year but it was clear this is primarily a ski area. But thanks to their ingenuity this is also open outside of ski season. For about...More

Nice diversion just outside of town. Better than average course and he views are outstanding. Kids loved it and I did too. Only a short wait for us the morning we were there.

OMG This is a SCREAM!!! This was a surprise stop and I still can't wait to go back and let the coaster open up to scream down this mountain! German engineering at its best!

This trip was well worth the walk to base of the mountain and the ski lift up to the top was wonderful and scenic. I visited in September and the weather was still comfortable even at the end of the day. There is a speed...More

We stopped by the Alpine Coaster on a Sunday morning on our way back to Stuttgart. Parking was limited but free. It took us about half an hour to get through the line to the lift, and another 15-20 minutes for the actual ride up...More

This coaster was worth the 11 Euros for beautiful views of the Bavarian Alps. You take a ski lift up to the middle of a mountain and ride down on a coaster on a track and the ride down lasts about 5-7 minutes. You control...More

I do not know to be honest. While riding uphills, the chairlift sometimes stopped, so I guess they stopped to board someone who has difficulties. I am sure they can answer you. But she will have to come down alone on the... More

I’ve observed people on the coaster in the rain, but they’ll close it for lightning storms.

I don't know the weight limit, but you have a hand brake, so you can go as fast (or as slow) as you feel comfortable.
