There is a lot of history behind the place. Do take an audio guide. You will also get a breathtaking view of the German/Austrian alps

The eagles nest is amazing. The whole area is really pretty. We did the tour from Salzburg and I would recommend it. Well organised and good stops.

We visited with an interest in WW2. Were able to locate foundation of Hitler’s house and the tea room he walked to daily. Also went to Eagle’s nest. Area is gorgeous

A fascinating museum which shows both the misguided ideals of Nazi Germany and the horror that ensued. You can see by the views why they chose it as their holiday home.
