The Freemason museum in Bayreuth is unique in Germany. You get a thorough impression about the topic. Nicely made and in a beautiful park right aside the Wagner Museum.

This is a wonderful small museum. Perfect way to kill an hour, learn something new and have a good time. The museum is right next to Villa Wahnfried, and pleasantly connected to the Hofgarten. Run by a museum club, but really by the German Freemasons...More

Even though 88,000 items of the museum were lost during the Nazi regime, the museum succeeds in attracting the attention of the interested visitor. There seem to be few visitors, which is a pity because it is well worth the while.

I visited this museum, which backs onto the Hofgarten, but found it a little short on the kind of information the uninitiated might find interesting. Nonetheless, worth a look. The bookshop has some interesting titles.
