An interesting building with a beautiful interior but the entrance fee was far too expensive for the limited experience.

This is a vcomplete and fully functional 18th century opera house, lavishly decorated and opulent. Tours are only in German, but you are seated during the tour. Well worth the visit even if, like us, you don’t speak German.

Absolutely stunning. A bit pricey with € 8 ticket for the "multimedia show" which is a short trick film and an Opera sample. Try to go on weekdays, since the stage is closed on weekends and cannot be opened. open and fully restored to the...More

Currently being renovated in the light of its UNESCO World Heritage Site listing, the Markgräfliches Opernhaus in Bayreuth is a jewel you cannot miss when it opens again in early 2018. Scenes from Farinelli were filmed here. The auditorium is breathtakingly beautiful, absolutely unmissable if...More

This is an exqusitely decorated theatre which captures a time in musical history now past. I went on a tour but did not get the priviledge to visit it for an actually performance. Cherubs; candles and angels a beautiful interior which belies the exterior. A...More

The tourist info office said the lobby was open, which it was, although from the exterior, it would have been impossible to know which door was the entrance. It is to the right of the Opera cafe and to the left of the Sparkasse bank....More
