Gorgeous cobbled streets lined with impressive churches, shopping and old eateries. As you head further in you're afforded a nice view of the castle on the hill.

Old town is quaint and charming. I liked going through the alleys to find less touristy spots to meet more of the locals. The main stretch caters almost entirely to tourists.

Great place to wander and see the classic architecture and lots of gift shops to wander around. There were food trucks the day we were there and we weren't disappointed.

Heidelberg has a lovely old town. Interesting architecture, nice market square. If you’re coming to Heidelberg you’re not going to miss this and you’re unlikely to be disappointed. Make sure you wander through side roads especially those going down to the river. Enjoy your coffee...More

Stop in the city square to have a beer, fries and a chocolate after your visit to the castle. The geraniums in the windows of City Hall are extraordinary.

Heidelbergs Altstadt is a beautiful town in he town. Situated just beside the river Neckar (where you can take a boat cruise). Do not miss the Alte Brücke (old bridge) stretching across the river to the mountain side.

The main tourist walk of the city going from Bismarkplas to the Schloss. Lots of typical shops and bars/restaurants that were all popular and at times packed!

It’s a typical European old town, with lots of people, shops and restaurants including Mexican, Korean and Italian if you don’t want local fare. Worth every moment. If you live in the US, apparel shopping not very appealing. A few higher quality stores, but most...More

I am not sure. I was there on Easter day and it was closed, but people could walk on the terrace. The Germans respect the weekends and holidays... Unfortunately, the shops, for instance, do not show anywhere their opening... More
