Another art museum where blank walls are apparently more important than paintings. The museum proudly tells you they have lots more works than they can possibly display - but then only show you a few, with acres of white space around them. The crowning stupidity...More
We spend there just 30 minutes. Its quiete small, and most of the place was dedicated to an exhibits about a topic so interesting as Death. But we were unable to find any interest on dedicating two floors to works with less than scarce interest.
I love modern art and I love small museums. This place was a huge disappointment. The staff were unhelpful. There was only one themed exhibit on to see - about death. Most of it was audio visual. There was little variety. The best thing about...More
We where there on a Sunday afternoon with a 5 year old child. They get a first impression of the museum while looking at some paintings. After going trough 3 rooms the group moved in the atelier, there the kids could do some painting on...More
Its a good space for exhibiting, but pot luck as to whether there is something on worth seeing when you go. When we went it wasn't that great - a few intriguing exhibits, but on the whole not particularly worth the visit. However a museum...More
We entered the museum on a Sunday. Very inviting small museum. They had just opened a special exhibition for Herbert Meier including his incredible collection of 500 watercolors. The same 7 euro ticket was valid for other museums as well.

I love this museum in Freiburg. It is charming and unexpected. It has a diverse selection of art and I have always enjoyed going there. It is a perfect activity on a rainy day and you will not have to plan a whole day to...More
Usually I accompany my husband to modern art galleries and find something I like to focus on. However we both failed to engage with this museum. The changing exhibitions may just mean we didn't stick lucky, but being small and only a few strange displays,...More
Having lived in London and Florence, our expectations might have been too high for this extremely small museum. If not for the temporary contemporary art exhibition, it would not have been worth visiting.
