Soierie vivante invites you to discover lyon's 2 very last remaining weaving workshops from the 19th century. The association organises guided visits with no booking needed. The "bistanclaque pan" (as it's known in the trade) of the looms makes this noisy visit one you won't be able to forget!

The Soierie run two original silk weavers workshops. One has a 4 small loom operation where the weaver's family lived in a tiny mezzanine over the looms. The other is a bigger operation that made silk ribbons. The volunteers explain the history of the silkmakers...More
