The park alone is worth the trip, to be able to walk around and amongst the Roman ruins is pretty amazing, however to fully appreciated the history and setting do drop into the modern museum space next door, it's excellent, has amazing mosaic floor displays...More

Such a surprise to find these ancient ruins. Caught the funicular to the ruins. If travelling by train and within the hour your train ticket covers the funicular. Worth a visit.

Built around 300 AD. So much still intact. Descriptive plaques help you understand what you are seeing. Thoughtful and intricate layout. Worth the visit.

We strolled through here after visiting the basilica as it is just down the road. If you have time to visit then go and see the ruins

5 minutes walk from the Basilica. Excellently maintained, and you can wander all around the site. Some fantastic views of Lyon from the top of the Arena - well worth a visit

Taking the funicular up was quick and easy. Once up top we were able to explore the ruins and take in the views of the city. Very nice! Hiking back down was fine and was not too long or too strenuous.
