This museum has nice ,friendly staff and the art was amazing. It is not like visiting some art galleries in London that have a snobbery about them. It is quite the opposite and feels more welcoming and down to earth like the locals of Grenoble....More

The first thing to notice is the architecture of the building itself -- modern, clean lines, an invitation to the art. But once inside the architecture complements the art, unlike some museums where the building is the experience instead of the art itself. Spend a...More

I guess I did not know that a (relatively) small town would possess such treasures as Renoir, Delacroix, Picasso, Warhal, Monet, Gaugin, Matisse and then a bit of archeology as well. The museum, itself, is an art piece with sculpted staircases, large flowing rooms and...More

First, the museum is an architectural gem. Second the exhibition has impressive pieces very well presented. Everything at the right place. Third, high quality guided tours. And finally, don’ t miss the café bistro when you finish your tour.

Lots of different things divided into eras with very nice audio tour. Paintings from the 8th century to modern works.

Beautiful museum with outstanding pieces and absolutely something for every art lovers taste. The museum is very well curated and flows nicely. Renaissance, Baroque, as well as modern Masters. Well worth the price of 8 euro.

I didn't expect much from the reviews I'd read online. Wow! this is one of the best art museums I have ever been to. Everything from old masters to contemporary. Amazing in quality and quantity. Many 'name' artists- Matisse, Dubuffet, Van Dongen, but many artists...More

A beautiful purpose built light filled building housing a wide collection of French and local artists. Very well signed and divided into time and type sections, easily accessible by tramway with an excellent restaurant.

We went expecting a lovely building. Graffiti on the sculpture outside, garden not maintained, grubby what was once white concrete. Little cafe outside. The website said reduction for over age 65, they charged us full price, not worth it.
