Lac Blanc is a stunning high mountain lake, fantastic views and a cafe! We were on our lst day, it had snowed over night, the sun shone and we were followed by Ibex, a fantastic oend to the walk.

Lac Blanc or White Lake is a glacial fed small alpine lake at the top of a mountain in the Alps south of France. Comfortable shoes and hiking hear would be preferable, strollers or those with difficulty walking would not be able to climb.

we were a family of 5 - took us a good few hours (~5) to climb and about 2 hours to descend. We should have had better equipment (there was snow on the trail)

We took the Flégère cable car and Index lift and hiked to Lac Blanc from there which was not an easy hike as such but not a huge challenge if you're a regular hiker. Found a nice place to sit and watch the lake and...More

We took the Flagere cable car up to Plan Praz and followed the signposts up to the lake. It is quite a rocky steep climb in parts but nothing too difficult. Wonderful views of Mont Blanc and the Aigulles and glaciers. On other occasions we...More

This place looked very hostile from the bottom of the steep climb but when we arrived at the cabin, the friendly staff welcomed us and the delicious smell of omelet wafted out of the door. Needles to say that our lunchboxes remained closed and we...More

Our group of six made the hike last month. Two of us made it all the way to the Lac, the rest turned back a few minutes before reaching the lac and before the final, steep climb. The hike from the gondola drop off is...More

Navigated around here as part of our TMB circuit on a really foggy cold day. That made it pretty challenging ! It was still magic, but definitely not for the faint-hearted or families unless you short cut it and go on a really clear day...More

What a beautiful and rewarding hike! It was more difficult than expected, especially with 2 young children, but the endless views of the surrounding mountains are worth it and the hike is much fun. The lake itself was very nice but a little underwhelming, extremely...More

I didn't see any dogs on the hike and would not attempt it. Some edges are too steep. It would definite be a challenge in my opinion! 🐶🙃

It took us 4.5 hours altogether from when we got on the cable car at flegere to when we returned to Chamonix car park. 3.5 hours were walking between flegere and and Lac Blanc and back.
