The castle is above la Vielle Ville, and has nice views of it. The castle itself is a museum, with art displays of minor interest, and some local history and information on local fisheries, ecology, etc. This latter part is a bit more interesting, as...More

This is an interesting if not spectacular Chateau. I did particularly enjoy the display focused on the lake and its surrounds, but the rest was unremarkable. Note that the opening times on Tripadvisor are for winter and ARE NOT correct for summer - photo attached

If you're interested in history, this is a great place to understand the region. Expect contemporary (20th/21st century) art displays and places for children to sit, read, play as well. There is a small local aquarium (Lac d-Annecy nature explanations) in the chateau as well....More

We originally only went here because weather wasn't very good but it turned out really interesting. We must have spent at least 2 hours here and there was lots of school trips there as well. It is definitely a must place to go and visit...More

A good mix of architecture between a Medieval and Renaissance castle. One of the main attraction is the aquarium and all the explanation about Annecy, the lake and the province of Haute Savoy in general.

Looks impressive, perched up on top of a low rise, overlooking the old town. It was interesting to learn a little of its history. A really lovely short walk just up the side of it - some nice planting of flowers and blossom trees.

There are some superb aspects of this castle museum, such as the exhibits about the history of the lake. Other parts are less successful, such as the contemporary art galleries. More information about the history of the buildings would have been good. The views over...More

We arrived here just before midday and were allowed in for 30 seconds before being told that we couldn't stay as they were closing. At this point we were in the courtyard so I asked if I could just take a photo before being evicted,...More
