Had a quick visit through the museums which had some interesting displays of little ceramic people and events and war memorabilia to see. It was very warm when we visited so it was quite stuffy in the rooms. Still worth a look to get a...More

My favourite price! The Citadel includes three small museums with different displays and all were interesting. As interesting as the displays was wondering through and seeing the architecture of the old citadel!

I do not have an appreciation for sculpture, or suffering artists, so I was not able to fully appreciate the Musees. The location is unique - under the Citadel. Admission is free.

We knew nothing about the citadel and the museums so we were surprised and delighted by the gallery of modern art in the chapel and the large collection of sculptures which could be views for free in atmospheric cavelike rooms. There were modern sculptures in...More

The Citadelle itself is well worth a visit built in the early 17 th century. Visit the museum of the 24 th Chasseurs Alpins. That regiment now disbanded used to be stationed in Villefranche

We visited three museums at the Citadel and thought the Volti Museum was beyond fantastic. The ancient stone walls and rooms were the perfect backdrop for the simple bronze sculptures of Volti. It was beautiful to see such a perfect marriage of old rough stone...More
