Absolutely fascinating. The very patient guide had excellent English and didn't mind us asking probably very basic questions. Even the 9 year old and the 12 year were interested. An eye opening insight into Jewish life under the Popes.

Highly recommend this stunning synagogue. The history of the synagogue and the community is profound and fascinating. Touched by the resiliance of a small community of 200 people who kept their faith through oppression. This site is very well maintained and preserved.

As a specialist in European Jewish history, I can assure you that this is an opportunity not to be missed. The guided tour was very good. This jewel of Jewish history provides great insights into the life of medieval Jewish communities under the Papacy.
