The museum is just a room with everything written in French so not geared for non French speaking tourists. If you've been to Asia to the silk factories I would probably give it a miss.

The local brochure described this as a pawnshop and silk reconditioning museum, so I thought we would learn about the financial system outside of banks, or how people engaged in the economy. But it was very hard to find, and when we got there, there was no one around to explain anything on display. There was just one room open and we were left on our own to figure out what there was to see. This was really a disappointment, especially since most of the other museums in Avignon were closed in mid-January 2017.

This little museum tells the story of the silk conditioning and spinning industry in Avignon and the surrounding areas. It also is the oldest pawn shop in Europe and provided much help to the poor of the district. Holds special exhibitions. In 2016 it was exhibiting a collection of old photographs of people in the area. All in French, so you need to be able to translate if not a native speaker.
