We took an excursion here from our MSC cruise. We had a guided walking tour and one of our stops was here. The square is nice with several historical locations to visit. There is a medieval church here that is worth visiting as well.

We had a nice visit in this square and got some baguettes for a picnic lunch and some people watching. Visited the medieval church which was spectacular. Lots of people so it was interesting to watch them while we enjoyed a picnic lunch.

Brides galore in the square (as all must have civil marriages first in France). Kids enjoying, playing; buskers (musicians) and just a nice square.

Wonderful square. St. Anne Chapel across from Church of St. Trophime City Hall at one end in the centre, a 20-meter, 4th-century obelisk rising from the centre of a fountain. Unfortunately, water was not in the fountain late March.

Nice square surrounded by great building, from all side. Great church on one side, chapel on other. Take a guide to explain the building and highlights, it worthwhile.

I spent time here relaxing on a warm day in May. There are restaurants close by but I enjoyed being in the midst of French couples and families and other tourists.

The square is architecture....all sides with gorgeous buildings. Sometimes you get lucky and can watch newlyweds celebrate on the steps of city hall or in the middle of the square. Even if you don’t’ it is a pleasant place to sit on the steps and...More

I walked into Place de la Republique thinking I was entering just another street in Arles! It was a lovely surprise. I sat on a bench (for a long time) and admired the beautiful architecture and elegant obelisk in the fountain. Please find the time...More
