We were visiting Arles and St Remy de Province in May 2018 for the famous locations of Van Gogh's paintings because we both work in the Kroller Muller Museum in Otterlo, The Netherlands, which has a large Van Gogh collection. Because one of the Bridge...More

The old bridge is worth a visit. Still in very good condition and not tarted up as a tourist attraction. Nice walk alongside the canal from Arles centre. Lots of barges and wildflowers.

Amazing that the bridge is still there, but you would not recognize it from the painting. There is a reproduction of the painting posted near the bridge so you can compare. Helps you to understand what an artistic mind Van Gogh had to transform an...More

We walked from the museum to the bridge, a distance of about 2 km. To be honest it was not a walk I would recommend. We found ourselves going through a grotty housing estate and then along the river which should have been nice, but...More

Of course the setting isn't what it used to be in the time of Van Gogh, but it nice to see this bridge is still there.
