Not worth a visit at all, there are nicer markets in Lille. The french authenticity is not seen here and the market is full of immigrants etc. We visited the market for approximately 5 minutes. Not worth a visit.

I would safely say that this market is not worth the time or effort myself and my boyfriend took to visit. The tourist office may boast of it as a landmark market. But we visited the market in the old town, which was delight. Full...More

The Lille office of Tourism called this 'the best and largest market of north France.' Well, guess they where boasting a bit. The market was okay, but not amazing or something. Lot of locals. Virtually no tourists. Unknown to us, the marker building was closed....More

Worthless tat, crazy hordes of people, nothing special or unique. Literally packs of batteries, random sweets and deodorant. We left after walking through as fast as we could out the other side.

On Sunday - the indoor market is really nice. Nice food, good cheese, fresh squeezed juice..... The outside is more like a flee market.

We visited the market on a Sunday morning. Its enormous with stalls all along the streets & a covered market hall. Thousands of people fill the streets which is a little stressful but I always felt safe. Easy to get to on the Metro from...More

Just avoid this market especially if you have kids you don't have a man with you. The atmosphere is terrifying, beggars asking for money that physically grab your arm. You need to take your wallet off your trousers if you are a gentlemen and keep...More

A reasonably interesting market inside but, horrifically seedy outside, a lot of second hand rubbish and a lot of people asking you for money) - not worth the walk from the old town, where there are plenty of other more interesting things to see.
