Pilgrims visit this grotto and touch the rock face where the Virgin Mary appeared to Bernadette. The experience is very emotional and moving.

Words cannot describle just how beautiful and special this place is. Incredibly peaceful and moving. I would advise visiting early in the morning before the crowds arrive or just before the the torchlight procession ends.

The Grotte open at 5,30 in the morning and the gate closes at 12 in the night. You don't have to pay the bill. It's free.
