Completed in 1958, this humongous, modern concrete church, is part of the Sanctuary of our Lady of Lourdes, a popular pilgrimage destination among Catholics. It was built in anticipation of the large crowds expected to attend during the centenary celebration of the apparitions of the...More

I know this was built to accommodate large amounts of people for the culmination of the Blessed sacrament processions and for indoor masses when the weather is bad outside but this is just really unacceptable. It is cold stale and is not fitting for church events.It...More

This place of worship is immense, but it is very modern in style. It does not have the charm of the sanctuaries. It feels more like a huge gymnasium for sports events or concerts.

We attended mass here and it was quite different from the Basilica, but interesting none the less. It is a very modern type of building and around the perimeter were numerous images of the Blessed Virgin Mary from different countries throughout the ages. It is...More

Visited for the international mass, which is my favourite. I love the procession that takes place. This is on 2 days a week Wednesday and Friday.

This basilica is immense and can host 25000 pilgrims. It must be the largest church ìn Europe!!! It is recommended to attend international Masses.

Amazing place to see. Such modern look as it’s underground it’s like the size of a football stadium. There was a service going on when we visited and the acoustics were stunning. It feels like your walking into an underground car park but your not!...More

I’ve visited here many times and always find it very moving. Each day at 5pm there is mass for the sick. All the sick people are brought in here on beds and in wheelchairs. It is always very special. Around the inside are pictures of...More

I never knew there was an underground church in this day and age. This is one massive, impressive building. We and several hundred faithful were there for the blessing of the sick and Adoration. Wonderful experience - one I will not forget.
