I never knew there was an underground church in this day and age. This is one massive, impressive building. We and several hundred faithful were there for the blessing of the sick and Adoration. Wonderful experience - one I will not forget.

Brilliant venue that can host thousands of people. I love the mosaics and broken glass arts on the walls and the images of Saints and Holy People. Worth a visit whilst in Lourdes!

impressive building, but its a bit dark and not inviting. Accoustics are horrible,. we were there for mass and couldn`t understand a thing

The purpose of the underground basilica is to accommodate the vast crowds when the weather is too hot or stormy to permit services outdoors. It is very stark and simple in style but effective when filled with pilgrims.
