You want to pray, celebrate by lighting a candle, or just sit quietly and reflect - this is a place in the centre of Perpignan to be quiet and meditative.

This chapel is tucked away and easy to miss. Much more simple in its presentation and a more intimate size. It's interesting to visit and contrast against the bigger cathedrals.

Right beside the beautiful church, a little down a back street, is the Chapelle. It's easy to miss, but worth taking a look at. It's everything the Cathedral is not - small, relatively plain, and simple.

A plain little chapel next to a wonderfully baroque Cathedral the crucifix (a copy from a very early one) must be its raison d'etre. It pulls no punches and shows just how painful a death on the cross must have been.

The "rosetta" of the church projects itself as a large and colorful "aureole" around the head of the crucified Jesus - if you come in due daytime and stand at the right place.
