Large open square in the middle of the city. The place is lovely as there are many trees, 2 cafés and a fountain with a statue in the middle. This is a good place to take a breath.

We strolled down the Esplanade to get from the train station to our hotel next to the Ampitheatre . Very pleasant with a long water rill. You the reach a fountain which epitomises Nimes.

Visited on a week day and the esplanade was very peaceful. Lovely and clean. A nice place to sit or stroll. Walk down the esplanade beside the water to the train station. Perfect.

This a lovely square that Borders the Arena, and contains a series of nice water features, the towns tourist information office is in one corner and road leading down to the railway station adjacent to it.

A straight walk from the train station will take you here. Enjoy the beautiful fountain, walk around, sit and watch people go by. Clean, well-maintained and good photo opportunity.

We walked past this fountain everyday on our stay, and can't remember a time my girlfriend didn't stop to take a picture! It's in a park area, right next to some little kiosks for drinks, and also next to the tourist information, so i'd recommend...More

With a beautiful fountain as its centerpiece, (and clean, free toilets nearby) Esplanade Charles-de-Gaulle is a picturesque area. Walk through or sit on a bench.
