Friends from Paris told me about this hidden gem of a place. a mix of flea market, bar, curio. Hard to define, hard to find, worth the effort.

Only a two block walk form the Catacombs, great sidewalk tables for people watching, good service and reasonable prices for the area. Good crepe menu.

Le Comptoir General is a self proclaimed "Ghetto Museum" that offers a restaurant, shopping, communal space, bar, second hand clothes and garden. It is not for everyone, but if you like the off the beaten path this place is for you.

This place is just an unbelievable find in the heart of Paris. In a city where space is usually at a premium, to enter into this lost world of foliage is quite extraordinary, I've never seen anything quite like it!

This place is full of white Hipsters who couldn't be more clueless. I was embarrassed to see this place jammed with so much privilege sitting on it's tail end, sipping expensive coffee. I went there on a recommendation from my Sister. But it sounds like...More

Canal Saint-Martin
The tree-lined Canal Saint-Martin is the focal point
of one of the most romantic and hip areas of Paris.
Watch boats travel along the canal while lovers and
friends take in the atmosphere from the banks or the
bridges. Evenings see hoards fill the embankments to
drink wine and enjoy good company. The colder days
lead people to hipster bars, cozy restaurants, and
concert spaces. Those who are more adventurous may
