The 5th is another favorite of mine (I am a Rive Gauche fan). In the past, my husband and I had done a tour of the Sorbonne together and visited the Pantheon - highly recommend both. This time I was traveling on business and had...More

We loved walking around the 5th Arrondissement. We walked from the metro to the Pantheon and ate near the Pantheon trying many delicacies and people watched. We walked further to the universities and then enjoyed some coffee. It wasn’t too stressful and it was very...More

One of the major parts of the Left Bank, historically the site of the great universities, and thus lots of book stores and cafes where students hang out. Don't miss Place de Contrascarpe, one of my favorites in all Paris, and the Paris Mosque.

The 5th arrondissement is a central district in Paris and the metro station that will take you in the heart of the district is Place Monge. Highlights are the Latin quarter with its prestigious schools and colleges.

It is well worth spending a day or 2 wandering the 5th Arrondissement and experiencing everything the area has to offer. For me, the main attractions are the Pantheon, Luxembourg Gardens and Palace, and the magnificent churches in the area.

It's quite a touristy location, particularly in the Latin Quarter area of which this arrondissement contains. Restaurants, cafes, bars, clubs are all here and some great historical locations too. The famous Dragon Fountain - Fontaine St Michel (see pic) - is very popular and nearby...More

The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life,

student bars and lively eateries while the squares are
dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined
by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin
once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which
celebrates the great men and women of France. During
