Though La Samaritaine has been closed for safety reasons since 2005, I usually walk by the former department store on my Paris stays to admire its Art Nouveau and Art Deco architecture. On my most recent trip, however, two huge blue, red and white cranes...More

Don't know what they are doing to this wonderful building but get there and see it while it still exists - looks like they're in the process of demolishing it! Hopefully I'm wrong as this would be a massive loss of a unique and outstanding...More

Great view from the top, it's free and it's right in the middle of Paris near Pont Neuf. Get to the top level and then take the stair to the roof terrace

Used to be an enormous shop with excellent views from the terrace, but it's been closed for years with no sign of redevelopment. Looks very imposing from across the river but up close it's derelict.Owned by the Cognac_Jay family visit their museum elsewhere.
