Stayed across the street at the LaMaison Favart hotel with our room window looking right into the opera plaza. Saw people walking in, so went across the street and entered. As it turns out they were having a meeting in the auditorium concerning next years...More

The Salle Favart is a bit hidden, facing a modest court rather than the main street, so it is advisable to look carefully at maps on Métro and bus stops while walking there. The building is ornate but not overwhelmingly so, and the interior layout...More

The Opera House has a restaurant with incredible food! Off to the right of the main entrance is a 4 star restaurant. Food is great with great service. A little expensive but well worth it. I had the best salmon ever!

Very impressive theater building and square in front of it. The lobby is lovely, although I have never seen the inside of the theater. Lots of restaurants around to catch the theater crowd.

We have just returned from a production at the Opera Comique. The singing was wonderful, the orchestra also. We chose the second best seats online, 95 euros, and still had only partial views of the stage. So our advice is to purchase seats only in...More

The Opera Comique puts on an eclectic and adventurous programme of music theatre in a variety of forms that include, but are not limited to, opera, dance, and operetta. Its resources are limited, but its production standards are high, and one can expect to hear...More

Frequently overlooked and neglected, especially by non-French speaking tourists, the Opéra-Comique of Paris deserves much more attention and recognition. Unlike the vast amounts of information given about the Opéra Garnier and Opéra Bastille, few guidebooks give more than a cursory passage to Opéra-Comique. Perhaps because...More

modern day workers continue to take advantage of the
legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th
century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and
cinemas sit side by side with French bistros
